In the fantastical retro-futuristic steampunk world of Dynamo, a fleet of biogas-powered railway trains cruises autonomously, collecting trash along the way. Imagine what could have been!? This is part of the upcoming work titled Dynamo, which will be available on Amazon.

A brief history of fuel cells begins in 1838 when Sir William Grove, a British physicist, first demonstrated the concept by creating a “gas battery” that combined hydrogen and oxygen to produce electricity. In 1889, the term “fuel cell” was coined by Charles Langer and Ludwig Mond, who were researching fuel cells using coal gas as a fuel. In 1932, Francis Thomas Bacon, a British engineer, developed the hydrogen-oxygen fuel cell, later known as the alkaline fuel cell, which was used in NASA space programs starting in the mid-1960s. Imagine how different the world might have been if fuel cells had become commercialized in the 1800s. Get a sneak here.
